The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 will return to Europe this month for its 16th annual edition, reuniting the global bar community in Madrid in honour of the greatest hospitality experiences around the world. Designed to celebrate and recognise outstanding accomplishments of teams and individuals, the awards strive to honour the hard work and innovation of the global bar community. By unveiling the extended 51-100 list, 50 Best aims to highlight an even broader spectrum of the world’s most extraordinary bars and cocktail cities, celebrating the excellence of the industry on an even grander scale.
Emma Sleight, Head of Content for The World’s 50 Best Bars, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to once again spotlight more of the world’s most remarkable bars with the release of the eighth edition of the 51-100 list. This extended ranking gives us another incredible opportunity to celebrate the relentless dedication and unparalleled hospitality of the world’s best bars on an even greater scale
and to welcome bars from even more destinations to the ranking. Today, we honour the bars that have worked tirelessly to demonstrate what it takes to be one of the best in the world. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to each of the exceptional teams whose bars have earned a place on this esteemed list.”
The Region of Madrid and Madrid City Council, say: “Congratulations to the bars ranked in the extended 51-100 list. This is a distinction that recognises the hard work done by all involved and we celebrate this tremendous achievement. Madrid is the setting chosen to celebrate this well-deserved recognition because it is an ideal destination for those who want to enjoy unique dining and leisure experiences. In fact, it is the third most important reason to visit this wonderful city, after its historical heritage and rich cultural offerings. Here there is a long tradition of high-quality cocktail bars, as evidenced by the fact that the first cocktail bar opened in Spain was on Gran Vía in 1931. Undoubtedly, the combination of tradition and innovation explains the growth of gastronomic diversity and excellence in Madrid, as well as the quality of the culinary offerings.”
